Since few decades, bilingual education has been a major concern of experts and scholars in the education sector. In this article, the author has done a remarkable job by identifying and recognizing the significance of bilingual education in students lives. However, a noteworthy attribute of this article is its recognition of a different perspective that can enable understanding o the effectiveness of bilingual education.

The author has identified four perspectives that can allow analysis of bilingual education. These four levels are level of an individual child, analysis within a classroom, at the school level, and lastly, beyond the school boundaries and in different geographical settings. Understanding bilingual education from these four perspectives will be very effective in carrying out study on the language development of bilingual children.

Colin Baker has been a major contributor in the field of education, especially the bilingual education.
Presently, he is a professor of education at a number of international universities while he has the credit of authoring more than fifteen books, and more than thirty-five articles on the subjects ranging from education, and particularly, bilingual education. In particular, the identified article is an attempt of Professor Colin Baker to facilitate teachers and educators in efficient understanding of the bilingual education and bilingualism. In this regard, this article will be very valuable for the proposed research to understand the effectiveness and different aspects of bilingualism from a broad perspective.
